The History Train

…The shortest railroad in the US, but we’re just as wide as all the rest.

Why a train?

Well…Before trains, a farmer’s customers were limited. They sold their crops within a five or ten mile radius, or put them on a riverboat and prayed that they would make it to market safely. The train brought new life to small towns.  The History Train at The Double T represents the new possibilities not only for farmers but small towns and immigrants alike.

The Baggage Car #1772
The #1772 was built in 1910 by the Pullman Company. It ran across the San Joaquin Valley for the Santa Fe Railroad. Because of its importance, the #1772 has a gold star on the side. This meant that there was a man in attendance at all times.
